The importance of wedding dresses - Cheshire; Staffordshire and Derbyshire
I feel privileged to have photographed over 300 weddings in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire. This gives me a unique perspective on the many different wedding dress styles that the brides have chosen for their big day. Over the past 9 years I’ve seen fashions changing and new and exciting styles constantly becoming available. It is difficult to pick a favourite!
The wedding dress is very personal thing for the bride. I have asked bridal boutiques to give one piece of advice to the bride to be. All the owners said the same thing: the dress style needs to be tried on! Particular styles can look very different on different brides. You may like the look of a dress you’ve seen on another bride or on Instagram or Pinterest but it may look very different on you. It’s worth trying on various styles, even if you think you don’t like them at the first look!
When you start to try dresses on, you will quickly discover how you feel in the dress. If the dress highlights the beauty of your body you will only discover this by trying the dress on. Do this for a range of styles and you can hone in on your perfect dress. This is often not the one that you went in to see! What great advice!
Additionally, from my point of view the dress needs to be comfy. You will be spending at least 8 hours in it and you will want to enjoy your big day without the dress requiring too much of you and your bridesmaid’s attention.
WEB2B shops offer very large changing rooms so the bride can walk around in the dress, turn and sit down with the dress on. It’s great to be able to try these activities so you are happy that not only does your dress look fabulous but it’s comfortable and practical for one of the most important days of your life. Don’t get caught out with a dress that won’t fit in the wedding car or one you can’t sit down and eat a meal in. I’ve seen all these happen, don’t let it happen to you! Always have an extended fitting session and make sure you can comfortably do all your wedding activities! On the day make sure that you have any special fitting instructions handy and you allow plenty of time to get ready. Wedding dresses can be time consuming to put on!
